Paint yourself in the primary colors;
Put on the outfit and the nose
You’re no less of a clown than the others
I know you see me and secretly shudder,
The things you say I can’t even compose
You think of your friends like brothers;
They’re the ones laughing harder than most
You must hear the whispers and utters,
So you put on shows like others change clothes
You place the mirror under a cover
Posting vain portraits; you think no one knows
It must be hard to be a martyr
For a cause that leaves you outside in the snow;
For a man who you think is your lover
He pretends, but he can’t hold the pose
And in a few months when you wonder,
Where did everyone go?
Your lifeblood ripped asunder;
No one bought tickets to the show
